The City of Riverside, California has been introduced to a new form of urban mobility. The City has officially launched a pioneering 100% Pedelec (electric-assist) bike share program. The initial system includes 55 of Bewegen’s advanced bicycles located at strategic transportation hubs across Riverside.
The City's Mayor Rusty Bailey encouraged City residents to take full advantage of the bike sharing program, and took note of how this new system can invigorate the local economy. “We know that pedestrian and bike traffic are major sales drivers for small businesses" said the Mayor. "We look forward to seeing local residents, tourists, and conventioneers using the bikes to visit shops, restaurants and museums.”
The Riverside bike share program is an exciting new development for Bewegen, as it is the company’s first bike share system in the state of California. The Bewegen team looks forward to this opportunity to grow and expand across this cycle-friendly region. With this new exciting bike share program, Riverside truly lives up to its name: the City of Arts & Innovation.
